As summer comes to a close, so does our annual concert series. With hundreds of visitors, these free, family-friendly events were a great success to celebrate the summer and community at The Village at South County Commons. On Thursday, August 20th, our final concert of the season, we wanted to do something extra special. To celebrate, we hosted our “Endless Summer Party” with The Toolbox Band and Mixx 99.3. In the spirit of back-to-school, we asked visitors to donate new, unwrapped school supplies for donation to North Kingstown & Narragansett schools and we were floored by the generosity.

With a photo booth from Music Express, a paddle board giveaway from the Kayak Centre of Rhode Island and the second annual chicken wing cook-off, fun was had by all who attended. Thank you to Dan’s Place, Oceanside at the Pier, George’s of Galilee, Hank’s Down South and Pancho O’Malley’s for their delicious contributions to the wing cook-off.

And, huge thanks to our 2015 summer series bands: The Driftwoods, Foreverly Brothers, Larry Brown’s Swinglane Orchestra, Swerving Cadillacs, Black & White Band, The Dead Blues Society and The Toolbox Band.

Stay “tuned” for the 2016 series schedule next summer!
