One of South County Commons’ most beloved local restaurants is entering an exciting new chapter.
Rachel’s Cafe, a breakfast and lunch destination that has become a favorite gathering spot for residents, visitors, and the South County community, is now under new ownership. While ownership has changed, customers can expect the same commitment to quality food, friendly service, and welcoming atmosphere that have made Rachel’s a local favorite for years.
The transition comes after the cafe’s founders announced their retirement from the business following six memorable years. Opening in February 2020, just weeks before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Rachel’s faced challenges few new businesses could have anticipated. Through determination, a loyal customer base, and strong community support, the cafe not only survived but flourished.
Over the years, Rachel’s Cafe earned a reputation as one of the area’s top breakfast destinations, receiving Rhode Island Monthly’s “Best Breakfast” recognition for three consecutive years. The restaurant became known for its homemade breakfast and lunch offerings, specialty coffee drinks, daily specials, and welcoming atmosphere that made guests feel like family.
Located at 36 South County Commons Way, Rachel’s continues to serve a menu featuring classic breakfast favorites, creative specialty dishes, fresh lunch options, and popular coffee selections, including its Nitro Cold Brew Coffee. Guests can enjoy everything from traditional egg breakfasts and benedicts to signature sandwiches, homemade specials, and seasonal menu offerings.
The new owners, the Yogi family, are committed to preserving the qualities that customers have come to love while continuing to build upon the cafe’s success. Many familiar staff members remain part of the Rachel’s team, helping ensure a seamless transition for longtime guests.
For the previous owners, the cafe was about much more than food. It was about the relationships built over countless cups of coffee, breakfast meetings, family gatherings, and everyday conversations. In their farewell message, they thanked the South County Commons community and the loyal customers who supported them from the beginning, expressing confidence that the future of Rachel’s Cafe is bright.
As Rachel’s Cafe begins this next chapter, South County Commons is proud to celebrate both the legacy that was built and the exciting future ahead.
Whether you’re stopping in for your favorite breakfast, meeting friends for lunch, or discovering Rachel’s for the first time, the cafe remains a place where great food and community come together.
We invite everyone to stop by, say hello, and support this locally loved business as it continues its journey at South County Commons.
